VarmaSteel Roofing is now Product Certified. The company recieved it certificate from the Honourable Minister of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications, Dr Vasant Barath (center). The company was choosen through a pilot program hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) to be among the first to participate in the standardization process. "This certification heralds a new era of quality in our industry and we are proud to be a part of this momentous occasion." said Dr Singh, CEO of VarmaSteel. "Our industry has been plagued by a lack of standards and ethics resulting in the consumer paying the ultimate price. The standardization process seeks to elimate that and forge a new environment where consumer rights are protected. VarmaSteel launches new CSR Program
VarmaSteel officially launched its new CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program starting late last month. The program, is an outreach program designed to facilitate and help the citizens of the Trinidad and Tobago. “Within the last few months, we have seen an upsurge in crime, abuse, and other social matters,” said the CEO of VarmaSteel. “With this in mind we have sought to reduce the burden of government responsibility and take an active approach in helping the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago,” he continued.
Already VarmaSteel has made waves to maintain this dedication to society with material donations to schools and help centers. They have even assisted individual's such as Mrs Donna Perry, a diabetic patient who lost the use of her legs.The program is designed to target general issues such as crime, poverty, child abuse and homelessness. Success for VarmaSteel at this year's TIC.
Participating in this year's TIC (Trade and Investment Convention) for the first time was no easy feat, however at the end of it all, VarmaSteel came out with overwhelming success. The custom made booth showcased a variety of products and services the company launched this year including its new state of the art visualizer and its new product line the ULTRA CLAD.
Hope for the Hope Center
New hope for the Hope Center came as roofing sheets and other material were donated to Hope Centre in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago.The material with an approximate cost of $4000 was donated by VarmaSteel. Mrs Nalini Persaud, the marketing director at VarmaSteel who volunteers at the Hope Center, said "Varma Iron and Steel and Company Limited will expand its assistance to other organisations such the Gift of Life Foundation. She said: "Next month, we are trying to work with the Gift of Life Foundation using social media. For every like the company gets on its Facebook page, we will donate one dollar to them. We still have to work on that." The family owned and operated company was not just about building a business but giving back to people, Persaud said.
